Why Research? 🔬
Why Research? 🔬
🧪 TCY Research: Listening, Learning, & Leading with Women’s Voices.
🤔 Why We Do Research:
Too much of women’s health has gone unstudied, unspoken, and unsupported. For decades, women have been excluded from research and dismissed in care. The result? A healthcare system that doesn’t fully understand women—and often fails them. At TCY Women, we’re here to change that. We know that better research leads to better health, better care, and better outcomes for all of us.
🎙️ How We Do Research:
Our approach is simple: we start with women. We ask questions. We listen deeply. Because research isn’t just done in labs—it’s done in community. Your voice is data. Your story is research.
At TCY Women, our research is powered by women’s voices—gathered through deep conversations and wide-reaching surveys.
Our Tea & Spice Sessions create intimate, trust-filled spaces where women share stories, uncover barriers, and spark solutions.
Our 1 Million More Women (1MMW) campaign is a bold effort to hear from one million women by 2035—gathering their voices to help shape the tools, systems, and policies that truly reflect women’s needs, worldwide.
Together, these two approaches help us build an evidence base that’s both personal and actionable—turning real experiences into real change.
“ FUN” FACTS: WOMEN & RESEARCH
Women were not required in clinical trials until 1993.
Female animals weren’t included in preclinical laboratory studies until 2016 — that’s like, yesterday.
Excuses like “hormones make it complicated” or “women live longer anyway” have kept women out of research studies, so conditions that affect women exclusively (like endometriosis), differently (like Alzheimer’s) or disproportionately (like lupus) — remain poorly understood.
